Weekend Wellness Bags

The Weekend Wellness Bags initiative—funded by Bay Area Bright Futures Foundation (BABF) and implemented by Meals on Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF)—has provided over 1,500 bags to children at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in the Tenderloin since the 2024–2025 school year began. This summer, thanks to two dedicated BABF grants, the program expanded to serve 100 children weekly at both the Kroc Center and the Fam 1st Summer Program in Oakland. Each bag includes fresh fruits, vegetables, cereal, milk, and shelf-stable items like rice and beans, ensuring families have access to healthy meals over the weekend. The Oakland expansion marks MOWSF’s first youth nutrition program in the area, and families at both sites have expressed deep appreciation for the support.

In front, there is a red wagon filled with more blue bags. The truck's side door is open, revealing more bags inside, and a large poster on the side features a smiling elderly man. The scene appears to be a meal delivery event.
